This is the song that I've grown up with, that me and my siblings used to sing all the words to and take turns with the parts. I only recently watched the movie in all its emotional magnificence.
This is Moulin Rouge. Overdramatic, ridiculous, but absolutely gorgeous.
I don't know why Ewan didn't become a singer...his voice is unbelievable.
Today, what I think is beautiful is being carried away. Carried away by bike or carousel, I don't care, but to be carried. Taken away from the time and present and pressing and off---elsewhere. Lean back, eyes closed, taken on by the whirl that is ever so pleasantly just beyond your control.
I really was only going to post the first video...but I got carried away with it and I really couldn't not post one of these scenes, they're all too wonderful.
I used to watch this movie with my dad when I was a little girl (we fast-forwarded the scenes with the creepy child catcher). It has lost absolutely none of its magic for me.
Zac Brown Band. Alan Jackson. Beautiful music makers. Down to earth, decent, simple, straight up, hearty. Hearty! I love their music individually, and together they put together this easy, gracious song. This is the kind of song that melts my concerns and just immediately puts me in a better world.
This blog is for everyone who is tired of constant bad news and sadness. It is devoted to all things beautiful and delightful. Music, fashion, dancing, photography, stories, and many other bites of happiness will be here whenever you need a lift. Enjoy.
