couture week #1

Have to admit so far I've been a little dissappointed with Spring 2011 Couture. But there's more coming that I'm excited about, so I'll withhold final judgements.
First round highlights:
Chanel had a rather bleak show, but the detailing was beautiful:


Armani Prive chose to use some gorgeous jewel colors, but I wasn't too fond of many of their shapes.

I do think this is crazy cool, though:



Of course, Dior caught me as usual with their extravagant swooshy skirts. These weren't the best I've seen from Mr. Galliano, but still had that posh flair I love:

90s!

I rarely remember, but some good things did come out of the 90s. The haircuts, not so much. But the music...I'll go ahead and say it redeems the haircuts.
For some reason I'm a big softie for this circus video. Not even sure why.

Superbowl Recap

So, I was hoping to be able to present you with an amazing halftime show for my lovely moment, but that isn't going to happen. Oh well.
Instead, I present you with what everyone watches the Superbowl for: the commercials!

pps: the girl is Gwenyth Paltrow from a Vogue shoot a few years back. Its the only photoshoot I've ever liked her in.

Your Daily Bit of Do Good

I found this website through my sister. You answer quiz questions in your chosen category to win grains of rice, which the site then donates to feed the hungry.

Its addicting, educational, and you feel like your changing the world a bit. I've been playing on the vocabulary level, but I can't wait to try the art level, which shows you pictures and asks you to guess the painter.

On my first try I got to level 35 on the vocabulary before I guessed wrong. Not bad, but I think you can top it.
