Because there's just too much ugliness.

take off your shoes and socks and run you

About a year ago, I had a lovely friend of mine come over and stay a week. During her stay, we learned this little song. It sounded at least semicute, and so, in a little flight of whimsy, we drove around to the surrounding neighbors and sang for them. The responses at each household were delightful. How easy it is to make people smile!

Yes, it sounds a bit awkward and intimidating, but it wasn't! It was beautiful, everyone loved it, and I'll never forget the experience.

I found a little video on youtube with the song, along with pictures that show exactly what the singer is saying, and I thought it was sweet. Hope you enjoy it!

PS: The song name is Love You, and the artists are The Free Design

Blog Lovin

Follow my blog with bloglovin

So I've decided to join Bloglovin. Apparently, its a really popular way to follow blogs. I don't know how it works, but I didn't know how blogspot worked when i started, either, so I guess I'll learn. I've been looking at some other (more popular!) blogs, and trying to learn from them...
This internet world is so big!

The photo is from Genetic Denim, a jeans company, but I just thought this shot was so gorgeous

New York Fashion Week: Oscar De La Renta

From this collection, I think the hair and makeup are flawless. The layering and colors are also beautiful!

There have been so many shows during New York's fashion week, I'm having a hard time picking which ones I want to most show you!
Since we still have about a foot of snow on the ground, I decided to go with one very wintery...but delightfully elegant, too.

Enjoy Oscar De La Renta!

To make up for that terrible Olympic exhibition...

So disappointed with this year's men's Olympics! I'm happy an American won, but his skating was so uninspiring, so lifeless! They did the job and nothing came from it, just stress and pressure to do each step correctly.

Decided to take a trip a bit back in time to remind you what men's figure skating should look like...perfect form and lines, life and energy, pure masculine power. Introducing Alexei Yagudin.

one full routine: (if you're too impatient to watch the whole thing, skip about 3/4 into it and watch it from there...that ice tap dancing will blow you away)

montage of some of Alexi's shining moments:

Ain't it pleasant that not only is he talented, but just happens to be gorgeous, too?

To quote Elf..."I'm in love! I'm in love and I don't care who knows it!"

Unfortunately, he got a bit cocky as time went on, which kinda ruined his charm, but at first...wow. Stunning

The colors, the piles of patterns and layers and hats and hair and...FUN!

Best Superbowl Commercial

Like most of the girls, I watched the Superbowl soley for the purpose of the funny commercials, even though afterwards I fell in love with Drew Brees' beautiful little son, and was overjoyed that he won and got to share that precious moment.
And what do you know, it was a beautiful little son that made me pick Best Superbowl Commercial, too.

just adore this kid! Well, what would YOU do if some big guy was starin down your mom?
I have a feeling I'll be hearing this sentence everywhere in the next few days...

And the writers have always been a quirky bunch...

She was born Lynn, but has been calling herself Muriel for the past two years, its sounds like a more authentic writer's name. For the past year she's been in a two room apartment in New York City, where she heard all the writers moved. Thing is, she hasn't really been the most happy there. Everyone was just so weary of trying to be writers, she felt suffocated and dragged down into the latenight coffee shop open mic funerals for used-to-be, or worse, wanted-to-be writers. So she just recently decided to move back to Iowa. Less competition there. She might even change her name back to Lynn.

But see that light in her eyes? She's happy with her choice.

Things are looking up.

Grammy fashion 2010

Sadly, once again, pretty much a failure on the red carpet. Here are the best two I can bring you, and even these are not very original:

Carrie Underwood is always gorgeous, and she actually managed to keep herself at the powerhouse singing level of Jennifer Hudson and Celine Dion, I was amazed and impressed. Love this girl!

I gotta give it to Fergie, she always knows what's best for her body. Its a great color, perfect fit...well done.

Grammy Awards 2010

there really isn't much for me to be thrilled about the Grammy Awards, unfortunately. I keep hoping to share with you the beauty and thrill of award shows, but lately there hasn't been much. Pretty much everybody knows Taylor mostly sweeped the awards night, pulling in Album of the Year, but Beyonce grabbed enough Grammys to be happy, I'm sure.

My biggest surprise was Zak Brown Band. They gave a talented performance, showing what true musicians can do with their instruments, and I absolutely loved it. It was one of only two times in the whole show I felt energized and happy, which is what music should be all about!
They took home Best New Artist, which I was shocked about, but they totally deserve it!

The other inspiring performance came with a sneak peek at Green Day's new rock opera, that will soon be debuting on Broadway. If the whole show is like this performance, it will be magnificent:

Stories in the Sand

If this is not beautiful, I don't know what is. Such an elegant mixture of art, music, storytelling, and a message.

Kseniya Simonova, 24, won Ukraine's Got Talent with her sand storytelling, depicting how her people were mistreaetd when the Germans invaded in World War II.

I think you'll be as amazed as I was with this absolutely unique art:
